Monotype

Monotype is an exciting printmaking technique in which no actual printing plate is used, and therefore no edition can be produced. Each print is a unique work.

I work with graphic oil-based inks and different types of mesh. I have chosen to work with mesh because I am drawn to the lightness and delicate material quality that the mesh impressions can bring to the image. Composition is essential, and it is important to be able to envision the image before it is printed, as there is only one opportunity to create the final impression.
